How’s it Going in Your World?

Maybe like me your hopeful Winter is behind us and Spring and energy and light and more outdoors fun are likely to be on our agendas and wish lists.  If your not quite feeling that maybe one of the great workshops or personal coaching on offer (more information below) coming very very soon will be just the answer.


Growing my skills is always energizing and awakening!

I was reminded after attending a fabulous ‘NLP generative coaching workshop’ of how we can be positively influenced by – yes the obvious what we are passionate about, but also that when we surround ourselves with others who too are passionate it is energizing and awakening to our very core!!!

Ever notice those times when you are really enjoying life or not enjoying life that the people you’re with can

influence that. Yes we do influence each other and some of us are more aware of how to do that than others.  I notice as we grow and expand ourselves, so too do we grow and expand our circle of people who influence us and us them. 
 
So yes if you want to be impacted too to embrace more of your potential and passion I hope to entice you to come get energized and reconnected with what matters to you as a personal ‘gift to yourself & your life’ at Health Central.


Movie 'The Living Matrix'

I recently watched the Movie ‘The Living Matrix’ (on DVD) and a couple of stories come to mind that you might enjoy…One of a woman who had been working as an Osteopath and also was trained in NLP got diagnosed with a brain tumour which she was then informed had been preventing her from being able to get pregnant.

She found this ironic as consciously she wanted a baby more than anything and yet somehow she had created this brain tumour that actually was preventing what she wanted most in her life…

She of course at first just wanted the tumour gone and yes was depressed and fighting her life, herself and from that journey of discovery came an awakening for her that if she created this tumour that was preventing her becoming pregnant then maybe unconsciously something was holding her back and she went on to do some discovery work around that to come to a place of understanding – and asking the opposite of wanting it gone to what is it here for?  and that opened her to a lot of valuable realizations and an accepting that the tumour was purposeful and was ok if it stayed for the rest of her life…yes the tumour disappeared!
 
Great story (that’s my short version you might like to watch the movie) and a reminder of how powerful our minds really are – My personal journey and many a time in clinic health & wellbeing challenges tell their own story and whether they show up in our physical body, the way we are thinking our mindset, feeling our attitude, or in how we are living can be our wake up call - the gift that pushes us if we are awake & ready enough to push through – something needs to change – some new information, experience, way of being is required.  It’s just that often we don’t know what we don’t know and no change in us means no change in our life and circumstances.
 
There were many other amazing and inspiring stories with people who by receiving distance healing had personal awakenings and positive transformations, experiments on the impacts of our thoughts on other people in different places – yes our thoughts do become real.  Intention & energy are interconnected and our beliefs are powerful if you think you can your right! 
 
A question I’m often asked is: "what I do in my day to support me being my best?"

The not negotiables are; yoga, breath meditation followed by appreciating my life and journey and all the people in it that includes you.  And mental rehearsal of the projects and the transformation I’m personally working on. 
 
Yes I’m definitely a work in progress!  I have learnt what foods energize me, how to rest and rejuvenate as I go each day and work smarter not harder so I can be my best.  These things I view as part of my working day – yes they start out as a discipline and along the way they become part of your norm just like brushing your teeth.
 
I intentionally manage my energy – mentally, emotionally and physically and as I continue to question and live my passions that helps me to evolve and to be attracting like people, opportunities and expanding my life. 


New client's feedback to me

New clients these days are reinforcing the need for me to update my profile…website, cards etc but maybe more importantly with you my already well valued clients.  Those of you who know me, know I’m here to yes be your best coach possible but to do that means I need to keep evolving and growing and expanding what/who I am which I do and will…and as I joke shoot me if that ever stops.
 
A couple of weeks ago a client and we will call her Sally (not real name and the client has given me permission to tell this story) phoned to ask for more information about my coaching, yes she lived locally and had seen my website – good start.
 
When Sally came for her first session with me, which I often frame as a discovery session where 3 things happen;

  1. I hear your story where you are at, what you want and what’s getting in your way/stopping you

  2. I’m listening, questioning and reflecting where useful for the purpose of heightening your awareness and for me to understand how I can best facilitate the change you’re after (this often means a combination of coaching, teaching/educating, facilitating, supporting, motivating, task setting

  3. give my recommendation for the best programme/plan & process at Health Central to support

So this discovery session for Sally was all and more than she expected and on accomplishing the above 3. Sally was astounded that yes I also did all of the things that you will read about below and as often is stated to me "gosh I thought I’d have to go to at least 3 different  people to achieve this"
 
Sally’s initial phone call was seeking personal development.

Her discovery session opened up for her desire for help in how I can live my Heart felt core passions and dump the fear that holds me back!

Want to get out of old mind programming – perfection seeking, over analyzing/mentalising/never good enough…and the story unfolded to past history and what was still being relived today.

Recently diagnosed with liver dysfunction.

Some years back appendix removed and not been well since (common story), tired all the time.
 
Lots more but you get the idea that without a Mind/body integrative approach not likely that Sally will achieve the type of personal development she is after
 
So just in 3 sessions Sally has become much more aware of what is holding her back and the process to begin with is firstly about getting some foundational Mind/Body wellbeing back before she can then be more clear, energized and in action to building that future she has been dreaming about for some time.


My elevator speech needs to be upgraded

So these days my elevator speech (you know in marketing terms is that you should be able to get your message across adequately in an elevator ride with someone who doesn’t know you) mmm not easy with all that I do and feel free to give me feedback on how you would explain what I do to your friends, family and colleagues as the task of UPGRADE is required.

This is the short version

Main context for my coaching is…personal development and expansion mind/body potential (an integrated approach) & busting past limits.  Remember the common denominator in all that is your life, is you!  Best self, life, health & wellbeing.
 
Main stuff I coach…mind/body health & wellbeing, vitality, resilience, balance, stress, mood, change, clarity of what want, relationships self/others, connecting to core passion/purpose, busting limits, mind, limiting behaviors, more resourceful mental/emotional states and yes much more!  Basically enhancing how you do your life.
 
The explanation often changes depending on whose asking as some of you see me as your Naturopath, some as your Mind Coach, some who have been clients for many years as your Massage therapist, some all and more!
 
Some of this may be in the long version.
 
So here goes – When I have my ‘Coach hat’ on; My aim in the session maybe any of the following and more

  • Helping you to get profoundly related and clear about you and your life and what matters

  • Awakening more of your full potential and natural abilities

  • Overcoming your weaknesses and the things that hold you back in your life

  • Breaking free from your history and creating your best ‘designer’ life

  • Increasing your personal power

  •  Improving your relationships with self and others

  • Adapting to stress and change

  • Increasing your energy and general mind/body wellbeing

It’s useful for any of us to see we are likely to be so much more than what we are living and getting the balance in our mind/body connection is challenging.  Even superman/woman would fail in a dysfunctional system.
 
So when you come to me for Mind/Body coaching my knowledge and experience in different models are present and available to you in your sessions, all or some as is best suited for you.  Some clients value the whole package being integrated over time – others may just be one area that they are ready for in their lives now. 
 
Life is not much without passion and resilience and vitality and joy and love and adventure and challenge and being all you can be!!!  Living BIG – Being in gratitude…


The different modalities I may offer within Mind/Body Potential Coaching (an integrated approach)

NLP neuro linguistic programming – sets the stage for me understanding you better and particularly how you are using your mind, emotions and behaviors…it also will help us both bring to the surface what you really value and believe – maybe tidying up some past that holds you back and creating a desirable future vision.  Self mastery for optimal performance states, enhancing confidence and self esteem are critical for us all in these crazy times we live in.  Your mindset and your attitude are impacting your whole being right down to a cellular level!


Naturopathy model of healthy living that incorporates individual plan for current health & wellbeing; nutrition/hydration, exercise/fitness, rest/sleep/fatigue/energy/detoxification practices/integral daily practices to vitalize

  • Dis-ease in our mind or body can be supported positively with nutritional supplements
  • Detoxification programmes are a profound way to awaken and embrace change;

One thing I notice with clients who are ready to embrace a detoxification programme as you detox the body you detox the mind and emotions.  Remember all is connected and more often you are motivated to a project of  decluttering your home and life with what is getting in the way, taking up valuable space, attention and energy!

Herbal Medicine plant medicine in my view is very magical and something that I think we all can thrive with, nature can support us to heal & feel great.  Herbal medicine can be targeting and supporting different body systems – in clinic I especially focus on your nervous system, this also tonics and calms your brain and impacts big time your attitude and what is possible.

Both nutritional supplements and herbal medicine
can be used for the wide spectrum of human challenge to expanding human potential. 
My own journey of dis-ease in my mid 20’s to 30’s to now at 50 knowing myself, expanding myself and my wellbeing has been a challenging yet very rewarding time of which I now as your coach, facilitator, educator, motivator, teacher feel well equipped for. 


Massage therapy these days I am not interested in massage therapy purely for the purpose of the physical body – there are many great massage therapists out there working at this level… 

My intention with massage is about Mind/body wellbeing, vitality and balance – more often it is integrated as part of your programme to support what is happening in your coaching sessions. 

Many a client has found it helps integrate change, maybe allow emotional release that clients say feels ready to let go of, sometimes awareness of questions and observations also present during the massage, things that really matter surface and can support the change your after. 

Massage can be combined with supportive breath focus, mind training, and NLP anchoring resourceful states.  These can be recalled/relived at other times – particularly of a relaxing, calm type experience.

Relaxation and rejuvenation supports self and stress mastery  a calm being has a creative mind and buoyancy in emotions and energy are more likely to be expanded.
 
Breath and mind attention control truly enhance you and your abilities to show up as your best more often.

This workshop will support and inform you in a step process how to detoxify covering nutrition, exercise, breath, rest.  As you detox the physical you also detox your mental and emotional bodies too! 
 

Detoxification when done appropriately will energize, allow clarity and passion back into your mind space and that well needed rejuvenation to step up to your life.

Yoga, breath and mind connection

Many a time you tell me I can’t meditate because my mind is too busy!  I understand, best way to begin is to move the body with yoga stretches, learn how to breathe to oxygenate and refresh and to breathe out to release and let go. As you unwind the body and work with your breath shift happens in the mind over time.  Many of you know how important it is to gain control over your mind rather than it going a thousand miles an hour in every which direction.


My aim is to help you work with these 3 dimensions so you can take it home and develop a home practice that will enhance and enrich your ability to calm and tap into your mind space more resourcefully.

Brain training for enhancing 'attitude'

A common discussion sometimes in coaching sessions is my ‘self talk’ is really unuseful but it gets the best of me!  In the NLP world of learning we know how your brain is internally representing your life and how that will impact your emotional states, your behavior and actions hence the results you’re getting.
 
Without shifting what is playing our in your mind you will keep getting what you have been getting – that’s a no brainer
 
You will learn how to become an observer of your mind.  What is the difference between your conscious and unconscious minds?  What filters your life experience and makes meaning usefully/unusefully.  How your brain codes experience in pictures, feelings, sounds and internal chatter…just visit a happy memory now and see what plays out in your mind.
 
NLP anchoring – the ability to choose your emotional state yes actually predetermine how you show up and yes ‘attitude’ is everything!  How to interrupt negative affirming thoughts and create the opposite – positive affirming thoughts.

Looking at your strategies…i.e. how you get from a. to b. and some of those strategies maybe unuseful patterns or habits that you would like to bust and set up something much more in tune with your future desires. 
 
How to use your mind to pre-programme your future and to use what happens as a resource to feed forward and edit your upgrades as you go.  All powerful stuff!!!
