Recent feedback reminds me my style of coaching has three levels all being inter-connected, can’t impact one without influencing them all.  The dance of weaving these layers into your unfolding process offers you breakthroughs to more success and contentment and designing your life from the inside out…

Because I get reminded every day the power of tuning in to your deeper insight and wisdom and getting the meaningless clutter out of the way I’ve decided to write this newsletter in a way that offers you that possibility.  As you connect with yourself you open to powerful insight surfacing.

Our minds are so much more resourceful and insightful if we give them direction and opportunity with a great question and allow space for the magic to surface, you may even want to use pen and paper if you haven’t checked in with yourself for a bit…
your  intuitive mind will tell your thinking mind where to look next…


So how has 2009 played out so far?

It’s that time again when the ponderings of where did the year go and yes maybe even what was on the ‘to do’ list and whether you’ll be celebrating or wishing you got your butt into gear. You know you’re on target if your life is leading you to feeling happy, healthy and successful.


What limitations are you placing on your life?

The only limitations are the ones we place upon ourselves with our minds!  Our Mindset and Attitude can make or break us…when you change the way you look at something, the thing you look at changes in response.  So how you view your life and what you believe is possible matters big time - what if you’re limiting what is possible?


What would motivate you to take more/different action?

Most of us are motivated to take action when we reach a place of frustration and discontent but without a clear forward goal post we may just move forward enough to decrease our frustration and before we know it cycle back to the same place.  So to be successful we need clear motivation (emotions engaged) for change and a well defined look at what that is and how to get it!


Are you stretching yourself - or not?

The fact is risk and the sense of stretching ourselves is genuine growth – there is a part of us that loves growth because it seeks fuller expression of who we can be and then there’s that part that is fighting to maintain balance and what is familiar.  Natural and constant tension between these two aspects of ourselves can be brought together by strategic vision.


Are you evolving or on automatic pilot?

If we connect to who we can be and are energized by our life plan we are evolving and living what really matters.  If not we are likely to be on automatic pilot.  To get out of automatic pilot you will need to experience this tug of war between the you of the past and the possible you of the future if you want change and are choosing a pursuit of an ever-fuller rich expression of yourself and your life.


Awesome success requires energy, hows yours?

Your success is supported by increasing mind & body resilience, having fuel in the gas tank to ignite action and positive change is necessary.  You deserve an awesome life which requires wellbeing, energy and a clear vision and goals to deliver a high level of happiness. 


The snowball effect, where would you begin to influence living big?

The you that is and the life you have now is influenced by many factors.  If you were to change any element like your environment or relationships, your behaviors, skills and capabilities, what you believe (tell yourself often) and your heart felt values (emotional drivers) there begins the snowball effect. 


If you were to imagine new possibilities now... what would they be?

So if you are pondering 2009 and what to invite for 2010 as you are about to plot out that path forward it helps to step outside your comfort zone and imagine new possibilities.


Which of your dreams are not yet realized?

As I write this I remember a movie I watched a number of years ago with Bruce Willis as the main character…and his younger self 10year old somehow visited his adult life and was aghast at what happened to his dreams, the dog, the wife, the job, the house, nothing as imagined – but what was more disappointing was the person he had become as if the life had been sucked right out of him!  The 10year old reminded him… we can realize our dreams, with clarity, focus and action.

Many of us can’t even remember the dreams of our 10 year old but what about dreams for now? 


Do you take time to smell the roses and celebrate your wins?


Yes I’m all about coaching you to be living big, full, rich lives and that includes down time and lots of pats on the back; joy, humour and feeling satisfied and loved is the best natural medicine on this planet!

Imagining the future
Formula one racing drivers use two kinds of information when they drive in Grand Prix races;  feedback and feedforward.  Feedback tells them exactly what is happening at that precise moment.  If a car swerves in front of them or if someone is overtaking them, it is feedback information that allows them to respond.  But they drive their cars at such high speeds that it would be impossible to rely on feedback information to steer their way round the track.  By the time a driver’s brain has told him that there is a curve in the road, it is too late to react.  He has to know beforehand.  This is where feedforward comes in.  Racing drivers study the tracks before they race and they practice many times on the track before taking part in a competition.  So they know the outline of the track very well before they race.  Their brains use this information to steer a course round the track.  They are looking to the exit of the curve as they enter it, focusing ahead all the time with the automatic part of their minds.  This leaves the conscious decision-making part of their minds to deal with immediate adjustments and crises.

So in a very real sense racing drivers can race well only by imagining and picturing what is coming next.  They have a clear view of where they want to go, but they also have to have finely tuned reactions to deal with situations as they occur.

If you live your life without any view of where you want to go, you will spend all your time and energy just steering yourself slowly round the course.  If you take some time to imagine and plan some kind of future for yourself, you free up your conscious mind to deal with and enjoy the day to day decisions and experiences.

What do I desire to create/happen today?  You can pre-decide for greater results just like the story above what is your feedforward going to be?

  1. Run through the day in your imagination as you desire it to flow, remind yourself that you are the creator.  Anything is possible, particularly if you put your focus and awareness and consciously create it.  Link your days actions to your current goals/projects and intentions & how you want to show up today, which will support those wins being part of your future.

What would I have changed today on reflection?

  1. Run the day through in your mind like a movie, highlighting the areas for change desired
  2. Decide what you would like to have done instead if you got to replay any of your day (hindsight is a beautiful thing)
  3. Run the movie again this time with the desired changes (the edited version) as your new mind/body programme for next time

    This process enables you to use your feedback each day as a resource to consciously update your programming and to pre-decide how you can show up more often as your best.
